Choose the discipline before the school
Compare the actual curriculum and the kinds of projects, laboratory work and field activities in each named discipline. A university offering one engineering degree is not evidence that it offers every other engineering field.
Ask about laboratory and field requirements
Confirm access to facilities, safety requirements, field activities and internship arrangements with the department. Request a breakdown of equipment, laboratory and project charges rather than using tuition alone as the total program cost.
Check the relevant professional route
Licensure arrangements differ by engineering discipline. Use the current guidance for the exact field you intend to enter, and ask how the curriculum relates to that route without assuming all engineering degrees lead to the same examination.
